Dressing Up a Basic Suit

Wearing a suit is a part of most men’s lives. Many men have to wear a suit to the office. Wearing a suit day in and day out can become a little monotonous.  If you are one of the hundreds of men that wears a suit to the office, take a look at these ways to dress up your suit. You could take your style from boring to fab!

1.       A colored shirt. Many men stick to the basic white shirt with a suit. While this look is classy and appropriate for most occasions, go ahead and mix it up a bit with a colored shirt. Blue, cream, or even purple are still very office appropriate. The pop of color will help liven up your look.

2.       Go for a colored tie. You could also wear a colored tie. Go for a plain colored tie in a bright look, or switch it up with a new pattern. Maybe instead of stripes, you could go with circles or even squares. There are so many possibilities with ties.

3.       Cufflinks. Putting on a great pair of cufflinks is always a great way to class up the typical suit. You can go for a conservative style, like a straight bar or a square. Or, go ahead and mix it up with a funky style of cufflinks that matches your style. For example, if you love airplanes, wear them on your cuff. Just remember not to get too extraordinary here.

4.       Patterned socks. Sure, you may be the only one who knows what kind of socks you are wearing, but a pair of patterned socks can spice up a suit. Just be sure to keep your basic color of your socks to match your shoes. No matter how fashion forward you are, it’s never a good idea to wear white socks and black shoes.
